Rupali Ganguly, a trendy actress, rose to fame owing to her role in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai. She played the role of Monisha Sarabhai, and her impeccable acting skills and comic role in the series gained a lot of appreciation from the audience. Currently, she is playing a titular role in the Star Plus show Anupamaa. Recently, TV actor Rupali Ganguly talked about her experience with body-shaming after giving birth to her son Rudransh. She put on weight and was shamed by the neighboring aunties, whom she did not even know. Rupali said she was 58 kg, and when her son was born, her weight increased to 86 kg.
“From 58 kilos when I delivered Rudransh, I went up to 86 kilos. When I would take my child out for a walk, certain neighboring aunties that I didn’t even know… ‘Arre, tum toh Monisha ho, kitni moti ho gayi ho (You are the actor who plays Monisha, right? You have gained so much weight).’ Who gives anybody a right to judge a mother? Nobody knows the kind of issues that a woman is going through.”
Rupali Ganguly married businessman Ashwin K Verma in 2013. Rudransh, their son, was born in 2015. Maharashtra Government has stalled all the shootings in the state due to the rise in coronavirus cases. The shooting of the show Anupama is going in Gujarat. A few days back, Rupali’s family, husband, and son visited Gujarat to meet her. Rupali shared a post and wrote,
“Home is where the heart is….. Since I can’t go home, my two hearts came to meet me. The men I love most. My Baby and his Baapu.”
“The first time I have been away from my son so long ….. never have left him for more than a day …. my heart breaks every time I crave to hug him … conversations and being with the husband and family is only virtual … Hope this passes soon.”
