Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre were released in cinema halls on August 27th. Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi gave incredible performances in this mystery thriller. Chehre is directed by Rumi Jafry and produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures. The movie also stars Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Siddhant Kapoor, Rhea Chakraborty, and Raghubir Yadav. Amitabh Bachchan was very much impressed with Chehre. According to the reports, he did the movie for free and even bore his own international travel expenses to shoot the movie.
Producer Anand Pandit revealed in an interview with Peeping Moon that for tax reasons, Amitabh Bachchan has been credited for a ‘friendly appearance’ in the film and has not charged a single penny for Chehre. Anand Pandit told,
“To avoid any trouble while filing the tax books we decided to give the friendly appearance credits to Amit Ji. Sir was so professional and committed that he also put his own money to commute.”
Earlier, Director Rumi Jafry spoke about casting Emraan Hashmi as a second lead in the movie. He praised Emraan Hashmi’s work and professionalism. Rumi said,
“After we finalized Amitabh Bachchan for Chehre, we started looking for other actors. I was looking for the second lead and Emraan fit right into the character I had envisioned. Even though I had never worked with him before, I had heard a lot about him in the industry. He is truly like Amit ji when it comes to professionalism–dedicated, hardworking, and allows nothing to interfere with his work. He is very involved in the work he does. I wanted somebody just like him. When I approached him with Chehre, he, too, loved his character and was happy to come on board. Emraan’s work has turned out to be even better than I expected.”
Amitabh Bachchan is back with season 13 of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He will also be seen in the upcoming movies Jhund, Brahmastra, Mayday, and Goodbye.
