Sanjay Mishra is one of the most famous Bollywood actors. He has featured mainly in comic roles in the movies. Recently, Sanjay Mishra started trending again all over social media because of an interview with Indian Express. He recalled the time when he used to work at a Dhaba in Rishikesh near the bank of Ganga.

All this happened when he was shooting for a movie Office Office where he fell sick. Doctors removed 15 liters of pus from his stomach. He was severely ill. Just after he started recovering, he lost his father. He told Indian Express,

“After I lost my father, I started losing my life. So, I went to Rishikesh and started making Omelettes at a Dhaba near the bank of Ganga. The Dhaba owner told me I have to wash 50 cups a day and I will get Rs 150. I thought I need money to survive, and I started working there. The owner of the Dhaba didn’t recognize me. But customers see me and ask, ‘Golmaal main aap hi the na’ and wanted photographs with me. Finally, Sardar ji asked me who I was. Someone had told him that I was an actor.”

Things changed for Sanjay Mishra when he received a call from filmmaker Rohit Shetty. He offered him a role in the film “All The Best.” Rohit Shetty urged him to return to acting. That’s when I decided to get back to work, Sanjay added.

 

Getting Over A Failed Marriage And Marry Again

In an interview with Indian Express, Sanjay Mishra said, “My mother used to call me and cry asking me to come home. She even forced him to get married.” Mishra, who was unable to get over a failed marriage, finally agreed. He is married to Kiran Mishra and has two daughters- Pal Mishra and Lamha Mishra.

Do you know Sanjay Mishra is an NSD graduate? Sanjay Mishra was deeply impacted by Irrfan Khan’s acting when he was in his college. He was offered a show by Tigmanshu Dhulia, who was his NSD batchmate. Sanjay told Rediff,

“Between 1991 and 1999, I tried my hand at everything — from lighting to art direction to camerawork. I also did photography and earned some money. I lived on vada pav. If I missed home, I would go to Andheri (north Mumbai suburb, home to many television and film actors) station, where the Delhi-bound Rajdhani train would pass, and cry (Mishra’s parents were living in Delhi at the time).”

Sanjay Mishra, over the years, has featured in films like Satya, Rajkumar, Ankhon Dekhi, Zameen, Bunty Aur Babli, Welcome, Dhamaal, All The Best, Total Dhamaal are few of them. However, he is best known for his work in the Golmaal series. Sanjay Mishra was last seen in Kaamyaab, produced by Shah Rukh Khan.
