Jersey Review
If you think Shahid Kapoor’s best work to date is Kabir Singh then you will change your thoughts after watching Jersey. Jersey is Shahid Kapoor’s best performance to date. Even during the trailer, Shahid Kapoor himself said that it is his best film yet. His character has different shades emotional, angry, and even romantic. The way he has played all the shades is simply phenomenal. Ronit Kamra as Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur’s son Kittu is the same kid from Nani starrer original Jersey. He is as amazing as he was in the original one. Mrunal Thakur delivers his part with utmost sincerity. The acting of Pankaj Kapoor will make you believe why he has been rated so high as a veteran actor.
Director Gowtham Tinnanuri has kept the essence of the original story in this Hindi remake. His direction is good. The music of the film is melodious and songs like Maiyaa Menu, and Mehram are chartbusters. The only thing that goes against the film Jersey is its runtime of172 minutes. Yes, the film is a remake. However, the story is great and is retold in a different and beautiful way. The film has emotions, sports, and inspiration. It is not only about cricket, in fact, but it is also a moving and inspiring father-son story. Jersey deserves a theatrical watch. We give Jersey 4 stars out of 5. Have you watched the film?
