Recently, many films have brought this taboo subject to the screen. Aparshakti Khurana’s ‘Helmet’ and Nushratt Bharuccha‘s ‘Janhit Mein Jaari‘ are made on a similar topic. However, what makes Kahaani Rubber Band Ki different is a different storyline from the other two. In this film, the couple gets pregnant even after taking protection. Sarika Sanjot is making her directorial debut with this movie. She is a co-writer of the film Kahaani Rubber Band Ki with B S Nirmal Raj. The taboo subject that was not discussed much in the past is now being explored.

Kahaani Rubber Band Ki is based on a sensitive topic that makes the right noises. The screenplay has some funny moments and keeps the audience hooked. The best part is the film does not divert from its topic. In a 2 hour film, there are engaging moments that blend with drama and convey the message of ‘safe sex.’ The first half has humor, while the second half takes you to courtroom drama.

Talking about the acting, Manish Raisinghan has done a decent job. He has elegant chemistry with Avika Gour. Avika Gour looked charming and played the role with ease. However, her dialogue could have been sharper. Pratik Gandhi, as a lawyer and condom seller, is good but nowhere close to Scam 1992. A veteran actress Aruna Irani was superb; seeing her on a big screen after a long time was great.

Kahaani Rubber Band Ki is an engaging film with a social message. However, somewhere you might feel that it could be much better as it was based on such a sensitive and taboo subject. We give the film 3 stars out of 5.
