As per the reports, Tripti Dimri is to star opposite Kartik Aaryan in the third installment of Aashiqui. Tripti Dimri, who received much positive feedback for Animal‘s success, will be featured in this love musical starring Anurag Basu, Bhushan Kumar, and Mukesh Bhatt. “Triptii has been the talk of the town following the historic success of Animal, and the makers feel that she would set the screen on fire with Kartik Aaryan,” a source close to Aashiqui 3 stated. After some time of conversation, the creators have locked her in as the female lead.
Tara Sutaria Was The First Choice?
Previous hypotheses suggested Tara Sutaria’s potential casting, particularly following reports a few months prior following sightings of her and Kartik together at a Mumbai dinner. In an interview with Times Now, producer Mukesh Bhatt, highlighting the importance of music in the Aashiqui series, refuted these rumors, saying that no actress would be considered until the film’s soundtrack was finished.
Aashiqui 3: Director
According to reports, Anurag Basu has been signed to direct this movie. Regarding Kartik Aaryan, the insider told the leading portal, “Kartik too will be exploring the intense side of romance in this new space.” Having graduated from romantic comedies, Basu will now venture into a new realm of love tales. He is eager to start this adventure as well.
Aashiqui 2: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Mohit Suri’s Aashiqui 2 had Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the key parts. In addition to smashing box office records, the movie’s soundtrack dominated the charts for a considerable amount of time, much like the first movie in the trilogy. “Rubbish! This is absolutely false. I have made it very clear that we are not casting until the script and the music are ready. But everyone wants to cash in on my popular Aashiqui franchise. This is unacceptable. I haven’t even met this lady.”
He added,
“The only name that has been finalized is Kartik Aaryan. Kartik and the music are the stars of Aashiqui 3. The rest will happen after we get the music in place, not before.”
Aashiqui 3 is scheduled to be released in 2024. In addition to Aashiqui, Kartik is scheduled to begin production on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is being prepared for release on Diwali in 2024. Furthermore, it is being directed by Anees Bazmee. It will be Kartik’s second Bhool Bhulaiyaa movie, following the hugely successful release of Part 2 in 2022.
