Sector 36 Movie Story
The film is based on the horrific Nithari murders that happened in Noida. This incident truly sent shockwaves throughout the country. The real-life suspects were Moninder Singh Pandher and his staff member, Surinder Koli. They were ultimately given a death sentence.
However, just last year they got cleared of the charges as there was a lack of evidence. The story is so painful that during the investigation, housekeeper Surinder Koli confessed to the crime. He admitted to killing six children and a woman after sexually assaulting them.
Sector 36 Movie Review
Sector 36 is a dark thriller. The director and the writer have done a good job of showcasing cannibalism, organ trade, and pedophilia superficially. They do not waste too much time on the premise build-up and jump straight into the action. However, at times, it also seems to be lacking the horror element of the original case that happened. It left the entire nation shocked beyond one could ever imagine.
Meanwhile, talking about the performances, Deepak Dobriyal is top-notch. Right from the acting skills to the dialogue delivery, he captures everyone’s heart. Darshan Jariwala is also worth watching in the role of Deputy SP Rastogi. Moving ahead, Vikrant Massey plays the role of Prem and wins you over with his exceptional acting skills. He is a brilliant actor. All the other actors, including the supporting cast, have played their parts with perfection.
The cinematography and the background score are also something worth noting. However, one drawback of the movie is that it might seem a little too simplistic at certain points. It also gets monotonous at times and lacks the emotion and thrill at points. The movie doesn’t have a proper closure at the end, which may disappoint. At times, you might also feel that it lacks the horror element of the actual incident.
Final Verdict
Sector 36 pushes you to know more about the infamous Nithari killings. However, for those who already know about the case, the movie doesn’t offer anything new. Also, the film is dark and may have a limited set of audience. We give this film 3 stars out of 5.
