According to reports, Ajay Devgn and director Om Raut are reuniting for another historical epic. This duo previously gave ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior‘ and it was a massive success. Rumors say that this film will have two powerhouses of Bollywood opposite each other, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn, with Hrithik as the antagonist.

According to Mid-Day, this film was initially about the Martha warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande and his sacrifice at the Battle of Pavan Khind. In 2022 a Marathi film Pawankhind was released and now the makers are rethinking the storyline for the former. Ajay Devgn and Om Raut might recreate the whole narrative on a larger scale or change the focus altogether to another unsung warrior of the Maratha Kingdom.
Hrithik Roshan As Antagonist
The possibility of Hrithik Roshan portraying the antagonist role is making the audience more interested. According to a source, “Ajay believes Hrithik’s charisma and acting prowess make him the perfect choice for a towering rival to his character.” In Tanhaji, Ajay played the protagonist, Tanhaji, and won a National Award for his performance. Saif Ali Khan was playing the antagonist role, Udaybhan Singh Rathod, and earned accolades.
Sharad Kelkar is expected to reprise his role as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the sequel, adding continuity to the historical saga.
Ajay Devgn recently was on screens for his hit Singham Again and has many projects lined up like Son of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan is having a big release in 2025 and he is returning as Kabir in War 2 and sharing the screen with Jr NTR in the same.
