In a recent interview, Nithya Menen talked about how actors are expected to work no matter what, even if they are sick or tired. “There is a slight level of inhumanity in films. No matter how hard it is, you’re expected to show up and work,” she said. She explained that actors eventually get used to this treatment, even though it’s unfair and exhausting.
Nithya also shared her kind experience on the Psycho set in 2020. On the first day of shooting, she had severe period pain and decided to tell the director, Mysskin, about it. She was surprised when he showed her understanding and told her to rest. “For the first time, I told a male director that I had my period, and he asked me to rest. I felt so understood,” she said. This moment meant a lot to her; she still shares a good bond with Mysskin.
