Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! is one of the most entertaining shows running on Indian television. It is one of the longest runnings television shows. The show also won the ‘The Landmark Show of 2020‘ award. Aasif Sheikh also known as Vibhuti Narayan Mishra is entertaining the audience for the past six years.
Recently, Aasif Sheikh shared with ETimes that when Shilpa Shinde quit the show, it suffered a huge jolt. Many tv serials go through the phase of actors replacement. In Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, the actors are replaced twice. First, it was Shubhangi Atre that replaced Shilpa Shinde for the role of Angoori Bhabi. Recently, Nehha Pendse replaced Saumya Tandon for the role of Anita Bhabi. Shubhangi Atre replaced Shilpa Shinde in the serial in 2016, and since then, she is doing an outstanding job as an Angoori bhabi character.
Aasif Sheikh talks about the cast and crew were aware that the ratings will go down after Shilpa Shinde quits. However, instead of giving up, the makers pulled up their socks and brought the show back on track.
“When Shilpa decided to quit the show, our show suffered a huge jolt. But you have to remember that the show can’t be run by a single person and especially in the Television industry nobody is indispensable I feel. When she quit the show we pulled up our socks and we were ready that there will be a drop in our TRP because she had a major fan following. She was doing a great job but we didn’t give up and worked harder and got the show back on track.
We knew that we would get to hear comments like oh we would watch the show for Shilpa now she has gone we don’t watch it and all. Eventually, it doesn’t happen like that. Whenever someone is watching the show, they do it for humor or entertainment. If they still get the humor they will continue to watch it of course the audience missed her for some time but they started enjoying it again. When Shubhangi Atre entered she picked up everything and did it so well that now it is her fifth year.”
Aasif Sheikh also talks about his favorite female co-star. She is none other than Saumya Tandon. Saumya played the role of Anita Mishra, wife of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra.
Aasif Sheikh called Saumya Tandon a beautiful and intelligent woman. He added that he enjoyed working with Saumya Tandon. Aasif Sheikh told,
“I enjoyed working a lot with Saumya Tandon. Because when the show was launched Angoori was a runaway hit and all her lines sahi pakde hain became instant hit. It was a caricature. But Saumya’s character was the most difficult one as she was playing a normal character which was not a caricature. We both tried to give that character a shade, added layers. As that character had a lot of layering. Her character was like she would get angry at Vibhuti but she loved him also at the same time. So, we would work a lot on our characters. Especially, our house scenes as we worked together so much we had ease, we respected each other’s work also. She is very intelligent, beautiful and very well connected artist. I enjoyed working with her the most. Both our characters grew together in the show.”
