The story of the film revolves around the Sabarmati Express fire at Godhra Station followed by the Gujarat riots in 2002. 59 people were burnt alive on the Sabarmati Express that was coming from Ayodhya. Most of them were Kar Sevaks. Mahmood Qureshi, a lawyer portrayed by Ranvir Shorey represented the Muslim side of the Godhra case.
Ravindra Pandya played by Manoj Joshi represented the Hindu side. The high-voltage courtroom drama is inspired by true events in determining whether the Godhra train incident was an accident or a conspiracy. Director M.K. Shivaaksh directed this courtroom drama with utmost sincerity. He brought the facts and presented them brilliantly. The narration of the film keeps you hooked throughout its runtime. Ranvir Shorey is excellent as lawyer Mahmood Qureshi. His dialogue delivery and presentation are superb. Manoj Joshi is another cinematic gem. He also fits perfectly in the role of Ranvir Shorey’s opposition lawyer. M.K. Shivaaksh, who has also directed the film handled the dual responsibility of acting and direction quite well. Hitu Kanodia, Denisha Ghumra, Akshita Namdev, and Rajeev Surti were also good in their roles.
There are some scenes at the beginning of the film which may make you feel uncomfortable. The one after the train burning accident, when dead bodies of people were being taken to the hospital is painful. Initially, it takes its time to build up. The courtroom drama keeps the facts and does not look like any propaganda. The music is average.
