There is never a shortage of fresh actors and potential in the film industry. Every year, Bollywood invites some fresh young performers and star kids to try their luck at stardom. However, climbing the ranks of stardom is no easy task. Many artists make it to the big screen, while others fail. Many actors have been unable to establish themselves in the film business after making their Bollywood debut. Let’s talk about them.
Ankita Lokhande
Ankita Lokhande made a name for herself earlier this year when she said she could not support any projects after making her Bollywood debut. The actress, who rose to prominence in television shows, transitioned to cinema with ‘Manikarnika,’ co-starring Kangana Ranaut.
She told about her difficulties in finding a film after working in the business for so long. She said that no one had given her any project and noted that she was not the sort of person who would ‘ask for work.’
Salman Khan
Many of you may be shocked and bewildered to see the successful actor’s name on the list, but trust us when we say it’s genuine. The actor, who marked his Bollywood debut in 1989 with the film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya,’ said that he has been out of work for about 6 months, mocking that his starring woman Bhagyashree ‘ran away’ with the credit for the movie’s triumph.
He also said that his father, Salim Khan, had to step in and persuade producer GP Sippy to declare that he had contracted Salman Khan for a film, prompting producers like Ramesh Taurani and others to come forth and engage him for their movies.
Gayatri Joshi
Gayatri Joshi earned her feature film debut in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s highly praised ‘Swades,’ with Shah Rukh Khan. Despite receiving honors for Best Female Debut, she wasn’t ever glimpsed or heard of on the big screen again. Soon after, she married and wanted to devote her entire attention to her family.
Warina Hussain
Warina Hussain, who made her cinematic debut in Aayush Sharma’s ‘Loveyatri,’ has not appeared in another film since 2018. While her co-star Aayush continued on to appear in a few movies, Warina has only appeared in a few music videos and dancing scenes in ‘Dabangg 3‘.
Fardeen Khan
Fardeen Khan debuted in the 1998 film ‘Prem Aggan’ alongside Meghna Kothari. Unfortunately for the actor, the picture flopped at the box office, almost ending his career. Khan had been out of work for nearly two years before scoring ‘Jungle,’ his first big success with Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. He went on to hits such as All The Best, Fun Begins, and Heyy Babyy before disappearing from the public eye. After a decade away from the profession, he will return to the big screen later this year.
Sooraj Pancholi
Sooraj Pancholi made his cinematic debut in 2015 with ‘Hero,’ co-starring Athiya Shetty. The famous actor, who was recently convicted in the Jiah Khan death case, revealed that he spent his ‘entire 20s in courts’ attempting to prove his innocence. All of the legal drama appears to have taken a toll on his professional life. After four years, he received his next picture, named “Satellite Shankar.” He was recently seen in the movie “Time To Dance” as well.
