Sukumar and Allu Arjun collaborated for the third time in Pushpa: The Rise. The duo worked together previously in superhit films Arya and Arya 2. Not many have thought that Pushpa: The Rise will create records at the box office. Pushpa: The Rise was released in cinemas along with Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, all the predictions failed when Pushpa: The Rise arrived at the cinema halls. Slowly and steadily, the film gathered momentum and is still running successfully at the cinema halls. According to the reports, the film has collected over INR 13 crores even after its digital premiere on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The Hindi version of the film has already crossed INR 100 crores at the box office in spite of the clash with Spider-Man: No Way Home, 83 The Film, and also 50% occupancy in many places.
Pushpa: The Rise became a blockbuster hit. To everyone surprise, many celebrities turned down the offer to be a part of Pushpa: The Rise. Here are the five actors who have rejected Pushpa: The Rise.
1. Mahesh Babu
According to the reports, director Sukumar was supposed to do a film with Mahesh Babu. He wanted Mahesh Babu to play a titular role in Pushpa. However, Mahesh Babu was not keen on getting a makeover and hence things did not materialize. Later, it was Allu Arjun who played the iconic Pushpa Raj.
2. Disha Patani
Disha Patani is one of the famous actresses in Bollywood. She once talked about her favorite dancer in the South as Allu Arjun. She got the opportunity to dance with the stylish star in the Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava song. The makers were also ready to shell out a hefty amount to get Disha Patani onboard. However, she turned down the offer because of multiple reasons. Samantha Ruth Prabu has not done the dance number in her entire career. Later, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has done the item song.
3. Nora Fatehi
A current dancing queen from Bollywood Nora Fatehi was also offered the Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava song. She got the opportunity to share the screen with Allu Arjun. However, according to the reports, Nora Fatehi demanded a huge remuneration for the song. Hence, director Sukumar changed his mind, and later it was Samantha Ruth Prabhu who broke the typecast and did the song.
4. Samantha Ruth Prabhu
Srivalli is one of the most loved characters in Pushpa: The Rise. The national crush of India, Rashmika Mandanna has played the role of Srivalli. However, previously the role was first offered to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She worked with Sukumar in the film Rangasthalam and delivered an amazing performance. Samantha refused to play the role of Srivalli due to unknown reasons. However, she still went on to be a part of Pushpa: The Rise. Samantha did an item dance in Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava song. The makers and Allu Arjun convinced Samantha Ruth Prabhu to do the song. According to the sources, Samantha reportedly charged a whopping amount of INR 5 crores for the song.
5. Vijay Sethupathi
Fahadh Faasil played the role of SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. According to the reports, Kollywood actor Vijay Sethupathi was initially offered the role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. However, because of his busy schedule and date issues, he has turned down the project and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil roped in for the role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
The film has broken many records at the box office. Pushpa: The Rise became the highest-grossing film of 2021. The actors who rejected the film would now be thinking Fire Ko Flower Samaj Liya.
