The shooting of all Bollywood movies and television serials has halted due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The people who are most affected by COVID-19 are theaters and daily wage workers in the film industry. All the theaters, shopping malls, cinema halls, multiplexes are closed. Now, the filmmakers have decided to release movies on OTT platforms directly. The movies Gulabo Sitabo, Ludo, Jhund are already confirmed for OTT release. Now, if the reports are to be believed, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani starrer Laxmmi Bomb, will also have a direct release on a digital platform. It was one of the most awaited movies of 2020.
The movie was about to release this EID alongside Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai starring Salman Khan. But as there are no signs of re-opening of theaters and multiplexes anytime soon. Given this scenario, there is a report that the makers are planning to release the Laxmmi Bomb digitally.
There is a report that states,
“It’s true that the film will now be premiering on Hotstar. Although there was a bit of disagreement initially, everyone is on the same page now. The movie will indeed be releasing online.”
It further states that the official announcement has not made because the team needs a month to prepare the project. There is a little post-production work that remains. The team is waiting for the lockdown to get over. The producers have collectively decided on calling the most minimum number of people to get their film ready, post lockdown, and following guidelines of social distancing. The movie will have to wait for at least a month after the lockdown has lifted. The makers have not finalized the release date yet.

Though it is stuck, the movie Laxmmi Bomb has already fetched producers a lot of money. According to the reports,
“Usually digital rights of a big film get sold at record prices of Rs 60-70 crore max. But since this film won’t have a theatrical release and will be straightaway sold to digital, they have fetched a huge price.”
The report further states that
“Laxmmi Bomb has been sold for a whopping Rs 125 crore. But while the number is huge considering digital rates, what one must not forget is that it had the potential of earning over 200 crores at the box-office, despite a clash with Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. So the total revenue that the team will make out of it, is much less.”
But the movies like Sooryavanshi, Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai, and 83 The Film will release in cinema halls. The makers of the movie already confirmed the same.
