After almost two years, the theatres and multiplexes are opened with 100% occupancy. In these two years, the audience has got their dose of entertainment through OTT platforms. Many films and web series have been released on OTT platforms during this period. OTT platforms have become a source of entertainment. Several OTT platforms are fighting to be in the top spot in the world. Recently, Netflix saw a huge drop in its subscriptions in India and they have dropped around 90% of the Indian content both web series and movies from their platform. Opposite, another OTT leading platform Amazon Prime Video has announced its slate of upcoming web series and movies.
For the next 24 months, Amazon Prime Video has announced nearly 40 new movies and web series that would release on their platforms. Some much-awaited projects like Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Farzi’, Rohit Shetty’s web series ‘Indian Police Force’, and many more will release on Prime Video.
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Ram Setu will also stream on Prime Video after theatrical release. Even the upcoming seasons of the popular web series Mirzapur, The Family Man, Paatal Lok, Panchayat, and Four More Shots Please! are also announced.
Amazon Prime Video also collaborated with leading production houses. Collaborated with Ajay Devgn Films, Prime Video will stream Runway 34, Thank God, Drishyam 2, and Bhola post the theatrical release of these films.
Amazon Prime Video will also premiere upcoming films from Dharma Productions ‘Jug Jug Jeeyo’ starring Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani, ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ starring Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar’s next directorial venture ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
Five of the YRF production house’s films Ranveer-starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Akshay Kumar Manushi Chhillar starring Prithviraj
, Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone starring Pathaan, and Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi‘s Tiger 3 will all make it to Prime Video post-theatrical release.The list looks great for the Prime Video.
