Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most amazing actors in Bollywood. He is always known for selecting exceptional content-based scripts. His recent release Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was also an exceptional movie. Now, the trailer of his upcoming film Anek is out and it is looking gripping. Anek is the second collaboration between Anubhav Sinha and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo has previously worked together in Article 15.
Anek revolves around the political, economical, and social problems in the seven sister states of India. The three minutes twelve-second-long trailer starts with Ayushmann Khurrana introducing himself as an undercover cop who works for India’s security in the North East region. Ayushmann Khurrana will be essaying the role of an undercover cop for the first time who is on the mission to bring peace for the nation. The description of the trailer read, “An untold story of an undercover cop set against the geopolitical backdrop of North East India. An action-thriller about a rebellion, an uprising. An Indian, who wants nothing more than peace for the nation.” It is the nail-biting trailer that raises several questions for every Indian.
1. How Is It Decided, Who Is Indian?
There is a strong dialogue in the trailer when Ayushmann Khurrana says, Who is the Indian” How is it decided? Does Hindi decide that you are from North India? How is it decided whether you are from South, West, North East, or from where; how does it decide who is Hindustani?
2. Hope You Are Not The One Who Thinks Tripura Is The Capital Of Mizoram?
There is a scene in the trailer where a teacher in a North East school questions Ayushmann Khurrana on the map of India. He asks, “How many people are there who know and understand about Northeast here. A politician had said in his statement that Tripura is the capital of Mizoram? Do they not even know that these are two different states?
3. Are Northeast People Not Indian?
In the trailer of ‘Anek’, there is a scene where a girl is slapped. Her color, appearance, and speech are slightly different. The eyes are small and the color is clear. She is slapped and is called Nepali and Chinese. Well, honestly, the slap is not on this girl but on people who pass racial remarks. There are many such questions that film Anek will ask and make you think twice.
4. Doesn’t Anyone Want Peace?
In the trailer, this question has also been raised. There is a scene in which Ayushmann Khurrana asked, ‘Somewhere it is like that no one wants peace, otherwise why has this small problem is not solved for so many years?’
5. Who Will Win?
When we are talking about disputes, then the question arises who will win in this? Whose fight is this and between whom? Who is the one that is making us fight amongst ourselves? The trailer of Anek ends with this question in which Ayushmann asks, who will win? In the voice, the answer is also heard, ‘Hindustan’. This might be the voice of every Indian.
