The October 5 2023 Anupama episode opens with Anupama criticizing everyone’s notion of a practical joke. Anuj sobs while holding his hands in front of him since he knows how Anupama will respond when she learns the truth. Being traumatized by witnessing his son die in his arms on the day, they went out to celebrate his joyous event, Vanraj sits by the door without saying a word.

Anupama Is In Disbelief
Anupama says they shouldn’t push the joke to such an extent as she brings the bowl of kheer she had originally reserved for Samar. She points to the bowl of kheer and tells Anuj that Samar came and ate the entire lot, so their scheme to trick her has already fallen through. As their joke is no longer amusing, she further asks Anuj to phone Samar. However, Anuj grabs Anupama and informs her that Samar has been shot and will not be returning.
She reacts to hearing this by standing like a statue. The rest are left speechless and their eyes are beginning to well with tears. Vanraj firmly grabs Anupama’s shoulders and tells her their son has passed away. He then collapses to the ground and sobs uncontrollably.
Vanraj Is Irritated
Vanraj becomes irritated when the inspector refers to Samar as “body” rather than by his name when Adhik, Anuj, and Vanraj arrive at the hospital to take Samar’s body. Even though it is not a good moment for him to think about such things, the doctor requests Vanraj to read the newspaper when he visits him.
Vanraj questions Anuj about how he can consent to such a thing as he gives him the documents. However, Anuj responds that they can give someone else life by giving Samar’s organs. Anuj claims that although it is already dark in their home, the organs can illuminate a family in need.
The Promise To Samar
Anupama is visited by Kinjal in the meantime, who advises her to restrain her feelings so they can tend to Dimple, whose condition is deteriorating rapidly. She is further reminded by Kinjal that Dimple will soon become a mother and that stress can cause a miscarriage.
Anupama begins to regain her composure as she recalls Samar’s assurance that he would watch over Dimple and his child. She wipes away her tears as Kinjal gives her an empathetic gaze, telling her that she must keep her commitment to Samar.
