The death of Sushant Singh Rajput has given the heat to probably the most controversial topics of Bollywood, Nepotism. He committed suicide at the age of just 34. Many actors have opened up on nepotism. Now recently, legendary music composer, Oscar winner, AR Rahman opened up on nepotism. He made serious allegations on Bollywood gang.
According to the reports, AR Rahman told that he is not getting enough work in the Hindi industry because there is a whole gang working against him. In an interview with Radio Mirchi, when AR Rahman was asked, why he does not compose more music for Bollywood movies. AR Rahman told that there are some people in Bollywood spreading false rumors about him. He added,
“See, I don’t say no to good movies, but I think there is a gang, which, due to misunderstandings, is spreading some false rumors.”
On this statement on AR Rahman, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur expressed his opinion. Shekhar Kapur was about to make the movie Paani with Sushant Singh Rajput. But unfortunately, the movie was never made. Shekhar Kapoor tweeted AR Rahman and told him that the Oscar is the kiss of death in Bollywood. He wrote,
“You know what your problem is @arrahman? You went and got #Oscars. An Oscar is the kiss of death in Bollywood. It proves you have more talent than Bollywood can handle ..”
AR Rahman responded to Shekhar Kapur and somewhat agrees to him. He wrote,
“Lost Money comes back, fame comes back, but the wasted prime time of our lives will never come back. Peace! Lets move on. We have greater things to do”
Well, if a legendary music-composer AR Rahman is saying this, then it is a dark reality of the Bollywood industry. He has composed soundtracks for critically acclaimed films such as Roja, Dil Se, Lagaan, Swades, Guru, Rockstar, Raanjhanaa, and Swades. What do you think about this conversation?
