Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush, and Akshay Kumar starring movie Atrangi Re started streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. Dhanush steals the show in this Atrangi love story. It is Dhanush and Aanand L. Rai second collaboration after Raanjhanaa. Atrangi Re does full justice with its title.
Atrangi Re Story
The story revolves around a young girl from Bihar, Rinku Sooryavanshi played by Sara Ali Khan. She stays with her maternal family after her parent’s demise. Rinku has already eloped 21 times from her home to be with her magician lover Sajjad Ali Khan portrayed by Akshay Kumar. However, she always gets caught. Her maternal grandmother forcefully marry her to a Tamil Brahmin guy Vishu played by Dhanush. This follows the love triangle between Sajjad, Rinku, and Vishnu. However, do not be in the dilemma that it is a typical love triangle, it is totally atrangi and totally different that you could imagine off.
Atrangi Re Review
Aanand L. Rai has given hits like Raanjhanaa, Tanu Weds Manu, and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. He knows the art of presenting the movie with emotions and elements. Aanand L. Rai has presented the unique film Atrangi Re beautifully. The screenplay of the film is good. The story is what keeps you guessing and it is the brave part of the film.
Sharing the screen with two veteran actors Dhanush and Akshay Kumar is always a challenge for a newcomer like Sara Ali Khan. However, she has portrayed the role gracefully and left her presence noticed. Akshay Kumar, who always shines in a lead role, but this time he is playing second fiddle. Dhanush, who gets involved in all this mess unknowingly is simply superb. The first half is exciting. Though the second half needed to be a little fast as it goes down a bit slow in some scenes. A.R. Rahman has given the music to the movie. The song Chaka Chak is already a chartbuster. Atrangi Re is all about love, loss, emotions, drama, and grief.
Atrangi Re would have done well even if it was released in the cinema halls. During this Christmas vacation, Atrangi Re will be a delightful watch. We give the film 3.5 stars out of 5.
