Actor Firoz Khan, who was popular as Cheddi Dhobi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain passed away on May 23, 2024. He was renowned for mimicking Amitabh Bachchan. Even in one episode of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, he portrayed Amitabh Bachchan. Sadly, on Thursday morning, Firoz Khan suffered a fatal heart attack in the village of Badaun, Uttar Pradesh according to reports.
Firoz was in Badaun for some time. He was participating in various events over there. Aasif Sheikh, who plays the role of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain said, Firoz was not in a good space ‘mentally.’
‘Wished I Would Have Called Him’, Said Aasif Sheikh
Talking to Pinkvilla, Aasif Sheikh said that he was facing some family disputes due to which he relocated outside Mumbai. He said,
“I also came to know that he was not in a good space mentally. He was a great guy who used to make everybody laugh. He was a foodie. Since he was great at mimicry, we would request him to mimic different actors, and he would act for us. I hope he is at a better place.”
Aasif Sheikh recalled an incident and said,
“Around 4-5 days ago, after I packed up, a random guy came to me and asked for a picture, and I clicked a picture with him. He told me that he was Firoz’s friend and lived a few blocks from him in Badaun. I asked him about Firoz, and he mentioned that Firoz wasn’t doing very well, given the family dispute. I took Firoz’s number from him and decided to give him a call later.”
He added,
“After a few days, I received a call from his number, but I was in a shoot, and I missed the call. I thought to myself that I’d call him after pack-up. We couldn’t talk. I couldn’t call him, and that is the regret and guilt that I am facing right now. I wished I would have called him and spoken to him. Maybe he needed some help, emotionally or financially. I could’ve helped him.”
Aasif revealed that he spoke to Binaiferr Kohli, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’s producer about Firoz, but she told him that Firoz Khan had quit acting and ‘wouldn’t return to the sets.’
Saumya Tandon Is Shocked With Firoz Khan’s Demise
Saumya Tandon aka former Anita Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain is shocked with Firoz Khan’s demise. She told to Indian Express,
“Absolutely shocked and deeply saddened. He was too young to leave. Worked briefly with him, but I remember him as quiet, polite and so respectful on sets. He was so talented. I can’t ever forget the episode where he became Amitabh Bachchan. It was such a hilarious episode and he was so funny. We were laughing as we were filming the scene. And he as dhobi was so special. As I talk, all the scenes done with him are flashing in front of my eyes. Uff this is so sad. I wish this is all a rumor.”
Binaiferr Kohli, the producer of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, also recalled Firoz Khan and said,
“He was the nicest, sweetest person on the set. He was very pure and sweet and would get scared quickly that somebody was going to scold him. After Covid, he went into a shell and needed help. I asked him to take up therapy. He had lost his mojo for acting. He was very skeptical about performing. But I asked him to come on the set and be with everyone. Then his mother got seriously ill and passed away. Just a couple of months back, his mother expired, and he went further into depression.”
She added,
“Everybody on the set tried to call him for lunch and spend time with him. We thought of putting him in a scene so that he could get his spunk back, but he just wouldn’t come on the set. He was also having a lot of problems, and it weighed heavily on him because he was a gentle soul. I feel sad that such a nice, gentle, pure person is no more.”
This is the second untimely death of an actor from the famous show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. Before Firoz Khan, Deepesh Bhan, who played the character of Malkhan in the show, passed away in July 2022 due to a brain hemorrhage. May his soul rest in peace.
