Bloody Ishq Movie Review

Bloody Ishq is a horror film directed by Vikram Bhatt who is known for his experience and expertise in the horror genre. The film combines psychological as well as supernatural factors. However, the narrative of the movie is quite predictable in the horror genre and seems to be a little cringe at times. The music in the movie is quite decent but not memorable. At times, one might also feel like the makers are still stuck in the 90s and early 2000s.

The twists and jump scares in the movie are predictable, bearing similarities with several other movies. Moving ahead, the cast performances are something that balances the film, lowering the negative impact. Vardhan Puri and Avika Gor, who showed a promising start to their careers, did a decent job in the film. Jennifer Piccinato also looks pretty and was good in her role. Other supporting cast played their parts just fine.

The second half of the movie is better than the first half but still misses some chills that are necessary for a horror film. With the given writer-director duo and the young talents in the cast, the movie could have done a lot better. Vikram Bhatt is known for some amazing films in the past, but Bloody Ishq story has nothing new, except with minor twists.

Final Verdict

Hotstar

Bloody Ishq seems to be a reboot of previously released movies like Raaz, 1920, and Haunted. But has very little to offer something new. Although the cast performances balance out a little, it is still mediocre. However, you can go ahead and watch this film, if you are a fan of the horror genre. We rate this movie 3 out of 5 stars.
