Call Me Bae features the theme of unequal distribution of wealth and power. The journey of the lead character goes from someone who is very dependent to someone independent. Although it seems pleasing to watch, it is predictable. The writers and the director have done a good job. From good one-liners to playful digs, the writing part of the show is quite humorous.

Talking about the performances, Ananya Panday plays the role of Bella and does best with what she is offered. Her acting and dialogue delivery will make you believe more in the protagonist. Varun Sood plays the role of a gym trainer and wins over everyone with his performance. Vihaan Samat as Agastya seems to be under-utilized but played his part well. Muskkaan Jaferi is good too. Additionally, Vir Das as the cunning news anchor also adds a hilarious touch to the narrative. All the other characters play their parts well.

The series ends on a cliffhanger. At times, the series seems to be an already-known story. The show is sassy and sizzling. But certainly, it could be more interesting as well. Now, it feels a little over-simplified. Nevertheless, when the story delves into journalism, politics, feminism, and the power of social media, the series becomes interesting to watch. However, it is very familiar and does not offer anything new.
