Chandu Champion is more than just a sports biopic as Kabir Khan brings a lot of emotions to the narrative. The narrative is also very simple and not at all exaggerated. The makers did their best to keep the story real making it more relatable to the audience. The first half of the movie is good at its place but a little too long. However, the second half brings a completely different emotional story showing the struggles of Murlikant Petkar. Initially, it feels like a Bhaag Milkha Bhaag deja vu, but Kabir Khan does not let it slip.
Moving ahead to the performances, Kartik Aaryan gives his career-best performance as he perfectly depicts the inner troubles of his character. He’s so into the character that your imagination will always see him as Murlikant Petkar. Additionally, Kartik’s physical transformation physically is praiseworthy. He also brilliantly focuses on Murli’s frustration, helplessness, grit, determination, and resilience. Moreover, one of the best parts of the film is the amazing supporting cast it has.
Vijay Raaz plays the role of Kartik’s coach and gives a heartfelt performance. Additionally, his character’s trust in Murli’s potential brings depth to the narrative and shows the significance of support. Furthermore, Rajpal Yadav brings comic relief that balances the intense moments with the fun ones. Other supporting cast also handle their characters brilliantly. In addition to this, the BGM and cinematography are the other two attention-grabbing aspects.

Chandu Champion is a perfect tribute to Murlikant Petkar. It is an inspirational life story that comes with good direction, and some amazing performances. Additionally, the emotions in the movie capture the struggles and success of Paralympic athletes. We rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
