Chhatriwali is a Hindi-language romantic comedy movie. Ronnie Screwvala is the producer, and Tejas Deoskar is the director of this movie. Additionally, Rakul Preet Singh, Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Rajesh Tailang all appear in the film. The movie was out on the OTT platform ZEE5 on January 20, 2023. It aims to educate on the importance of safe s*x and male contraceptives.
Chhatriwali Story
The third Hindi film in as many years to emphasize the value of condom use is Chhatriwali. The ZEE5 release, like its predecessors’ Helmet and Janhit Mein Jaari, employs humor to express the taboo. The movie is about using male contraception and having safe s*x. Sanya, played by Rakul Preet, is a young chemistry graduate who needs employment.
At that moment, she gets the position of quality control head at a condom company. However, she accepts with great reluctance. She signs a one-year contract with her job on the understanding that they won’t disclose where she works. Sanya marries, falls in love, and leads a double life without revealing anybody about her job during this time.
Chhatriwali Review
Chhatriwali begins as a movie that seeks to educate men on the value of having safe s*x. However, over time, the focus shifts to the reasons why s*x education is essential for kids of a specific age. For instance, youth who have wrong or no s*x education frequently become adults who lack these safe s*x habits. They make mistakes because it never crosses them. The movie also makes the point that explaining to kids how their bodies work is not unethical. Instead, it’s to alert people to the error so they don’t make a significant mistake. The story is also fairly interesting and doesn’t go off track much.
However, it appears that the narrative lacked some depth. It mostly discusses the issues at a surface level without going further into the core reason. Having said that, Chhatriwali has a lot to educate about important topics without ever coming across as preachy. Chhatriwali elevates it further owing to its treatment, humor, and effect. Rakul appears confident that she can handle such taboo topics skillfully and maturely. She embodies this intelligent, self-assured girl, Sanya, with ease. Furthermore, Sumeet Vyas’ character is also charming and engaging.
Final Verdict
In conclusion, Chhatriwali provides you with a sufficient number of similar events, such as skipping biology chapters in school. It also focuses on the elder members of the household who are still hesitant to talk about s*x in public. Additionally, it is a family-friendly film that both young and old should watch. Then Chhatriwali poses the most crucial query: what exactly is so shameful about safe s*x practices? Chhatriwali makes you laugh and giggle once more like a child. This film receives 3.5 out of 5 stars from us.
Chhatriwali might come to a happy conclusion with the regressive characters realizing how vital these things are. However, we know there’s much to do before this fiction becomes a reality.
