CTRL Movie Review

CTRL is a movie that represents the Gen-Z. Therefore, the characters of the movie are embroiled in a web of social media validation, relationship complications, and professional struggles. This also seems to be working well with the audience. The writers and directors have done a brilliant job by bringing a unique and intriguing narrative that will surely leave you wanting more. CTRL explores how we balance the fine line between our social media presence and who we are in real life.

The performances by the cast are good. Ananya Panday’s performance elevates the film. Her acting skills make it excited to watch this gripping experience. Vihaan Samat too, in the role of Joe, plays his part with perfection. All the other actors have small roles, as the main lifting is done by this pair. CTRL doesn’t just point towards the dangers of artificial intelligence but is also a dig at artificial relationships.

The writers opt for a screenlife format to tell this narrative, making the overall experience more interesting. When compared, the second half of the movie seems a bit more interesting than the first half. During the first half, you might feel a few pacing issues and it is a rather common love story. However, once the actual thriller starts, you’ll find yourself biting your nails. Each time Nella makes a move, you’ll find yourself calculating its impact.

Final Verdict

CTRL is nothing like what you imagine. It has packed with thrill, surprise, and uniqueness. By the end of the movie, you’ll be left with a whole lot to think about, making it a harmless watch. We rate this movie 3 stars out of 5.
