Some say that one can only excel in one field. It is true to an extent but not completely. There are some people, who have already made their name in the domain of acting but didn’t stop there. Instead, they made efforts towards doing their part for the nation and stepped into politics. Following is the list of celebrities in politics, who’ve earned their name in this domain too.

1. Govinda

It was an abrupt move from the killer dancer and jolly actor Govinda to enter politics. He fought for a seat from North Mumbai.

2. Hema Malini

Known for many roles, Hema Malini also entered politics. He was elected as an MP from BJP and she still is an MP from Mathura.

3. Jaya Prada

She was an MP from Rampur from the year 2004-2014.  She has also been awarded two Filmfare awards and featured in South Indian films too.

4. Rajesh Khanna

Rajesh Khanna tried to contest elections in 1991 elections but lost. He again contested for elections and became a Member of Lok Sabha, defeating Shatrugan Sinha.

5. Paresh Rawal

This man has the potential to do more than just and make us all laugh with his prominent comic timing. He is doing a great job as a politician too, he currently is a BJP MP from Ahmedabad East.
