According to preliminary calculations, Gadar 2 increased its overall revenue by Rs 45 lakh on its 40th day of release, bringing its total profits to Rs 520.35 crore.
Formidable Competition
On September 7, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, opened in theatres, giving Gadar 2 fierce competition. Jawan has been breaking records ever since its release. The movie has now made a total of Rs 510.95 crore in all languages and is aiming to break Pathaan’s previous record.
On August 11, Gadar 2 made its theatrical debut, earning an amazing Rs 40.1 crore. The film has continually fared well at the box office while facing strong competition from other releases, including the Rajinikanth-starring Jailer, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, and the Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh flick Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Even though it competed with the highly acclaimed movie Lagaan, the first Gadar chapter, which was also directed by Anil Sharma, was a smash hit in 2001. It earned Rs 130 crore at the box office worldwide by the film at the end of its run. Gadar 2 has done noticeably better than its predecessor.
