Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer movie Gulabo Sitabo released on OTT platform Amazon Prime. It is noticeably a first big movie to skip a theatrical release. Due to coronavirus, India has enforced lockdown, and all the theatres, cinema halls, and multiplexes are closed. Even the shootings were stopped, and recently at Unlock 1, the permission to shoot was given with proper precautions and limited crew members. Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo was completed before lockdown, and now the movie is available at Amazon Prime.
Gulabo Sitabo Story
The story revolves around an owner Mirza played by Amitabh Bachchan and his stubborn tenant Baankey Rastogi portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana. Fatima Mahal, a 100-year old mansion located in Lucknow. It is a home of many people who pays rent that ranges from 30 – 70 rupees. But one tenant who neither leaves nor pays the rent on time and he is Baankey Rastogi. Mirza, who is a 78-year old man, has the only dream of becoming a legal owner of the mansion. Vijay Raaz, an official of the archaeological department and Brijendra Kala, Mirza’s lawyer also involved in this chaos for their greed. Who will come out top? Watch out the movie to find out.
Gulabo Sitabo Review
Shoojit Sircar came out from their comfort zone in Gulabo Sitabo. The brilliant writing added with wicked humor makes this one a treat to watch. Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana delivered the finest performances. The cinematography captured the city of Nawabs beautifully. The writer Juhi Chaturvedi ensures the dialogues have the touch of Lucknow. The background score is top-notch. The only thing that may disappoint in the movie is its pace.
