Nevertheless, one woman decides to fall for a man, and another gets excited about her country’s independence. Meanwhile, bad luck and negativity begin in Heeramandi. Nevertheless, now the Tawaifs must come back again.
Heeramandi Series Review
Based on a unique concept, Bhansali gives Heeramandi a more luxurious and regal presentation. The screenplay is also handled with perfection. There are several layers that the show tries to create. It also succeeds in most of the scenes. This shows that Heeramandi is certainly not an easy one to make. There are also details in every corner of this fictional world that teaches you about the culture. Adding to the intrigue, the series has exceptional performances from its leading cast.
Sonakshi Sinha’s character is calculative and intelligent. Sinha in the role of Fareedan is a such delight to watch on screen. This is also a strikingly different performance from her which shows her versatility. Additionally, along with her is Manisha Koirala who plays the role of Mallika Jaan. She did a perfect job with her credible performance. Sanjeeda Sheikh and Richa Chadha get less screen time but they also create an impact with their performances. Other characters in the movie also do a fine job.
However, one major drawback in the series is the tonal shift in the last two episodes which seems a bit deflating. Moreover, the music in the series might not become as popular as several recent albums. Nevertheless, some lyrics are deep in meaning, and tunes that will be memorable one since a long time. The costumes are also just perfect and the choreographies suit well. Additionally, the makers consistently keep the story alive throughout the duration. It also perfectly captures the central love story of Tajdaar and Alamzeb.
Final Verdict
Heeramandi is a luxurious and wild ride where Sanjay Leela Bhansali has defined royalty and perfection. Although the show is not without flaws, the cast has the power to overpower the shortcomings. We rate the series 3.5 out of 5 stars.
