I Want To Talk Movie Review

The movie is a heart-warming slice-of-life drama that teaches you that since life is unpredictable, always talk your heart out. It will surely teach you a life-changing lesson. The entire theme focuses on the fragility of life. Director Shoojit Sircar compliments it with subtle humor, in his style. Despite this, he maintains the focus on a man juggling with life, one day at a time. The film also hits several standard weepy movie tropes. This includes the physical transformation of Abhishek’s character and the ebb and flow of various relationships. I Want To Talk can be unsettling for people who have seen their loved ones fighting serious illnesses.

Moving ahead, speaking about the performances, Abhishek Bachchan has raised his bar with exceptional performances in films like Guru, Dasvi, and Ghoomer. In I Want To Talk, he is simply terrific. Abhishek Bachchan in a completely different character with a potbelly is surely to watch out for. It is one of his career-best performances. He immerses himself in the character so well that you will be completely amazed.

Ahilya Bamroo shines in the role of a daughter. She balanced her role with utmost sincerity. Her monologue in the end should not be missed. Johnny Lever, who is popularly known for his comedic timing, adds levity to the otherwise serious narrative of the movie. All the other actors in the movie played their respective roles with perfection.

However, the problem with this movie is that the film takes a long time to establish Arjun’s pre-diagnosed life and personality. The pacing and the runtime could also have been a little better, especially the second half should have been more tight and crisp. Nevertheless, the strong narrative of the movie makes up for the majority of the flaws.

Final Verdict
