Indian 2 is an action film in Tamil. The movie’s director is S. Shankar, a co-writer along with B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar. The producers of the film are Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. Additionally, it stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role along with Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, and Bobby Simha. Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gulshan Grover, Samuthirakani, and Nedumudi Venu are also a part of the cast.

Indian 2 carries forward the excitement of its prequel while maintaining the core theme of fighting injustice. When compared to the first half of the movie, the second half of the film seems better in terms of being engaging. Kamal Haasan is the biggest strength of the movie. The several instances in the film were picked up from real-life incidents. But messy execution spoils the fun. Moving ahead, the grand visuals, VFX, and editing are praiseworthy. Moreover, the music and BGM also give the thrill factor and emotional touch. However, Indian 2 falters with its narration. Director Shankar’s sequel to the 1996 hit falls flat with its repetitive take on global issues already covered in numerous films.
The first half feels a little dragged and the dialogues also seem to be a little annoying at times. Another major setback is that apart from Kamal Haasan and Siddharth, no other actors’ performances are to be remembered. Even Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Surayah fell short in this regard.
Final Verdict
All in all, Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 or Hindustani 2 is an outdated film that disappoints you big time. It is, by no means a perfect film but it does have certain factors that might make a few of you root for it. Sadly, even Kamal Haasan with his performance, cannot save this sinking ship. We rate this movie 2 stars out of 5.
