Jabariya Jodi Movie Review: Sidharth Malhotra And Parineeti Chopra Starrer Failed To Impress
Today Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi released in the cinema halls. The duo impressed the audiences when they worked together in the movie Hasee Toh Phasee in 2014. Though Parineeti Chopra last movie was Kesari; she had a very short role in that. Sidharth Malhotra last movie was Aiyaary which failed to create magic in the box office. This Jabariya Jodi was a very important movie for both the stars. But sadly, it failed to impress.
Jabariya Jodi Story
The story of Jabariya Jodi was based on “Pakadwa Vivaah” in Bihar and UP. Hukun Dev Singh portrayed by Javed Jaffery believes in Jabariya Vivaah and feels it is good for the society. His son Abhay Singh played by Sidharth Malhotra runs a syndicate of kidnapping greedy grooms who demand dowry in Madhopur, Bihar. He forcefully marries them to a girl whose family unable to give dowry.
Parineeti Chopra played the character of Babli Yadav, who is from a small family but a Dabangg girl. Sanjay Mishra has played the role of Babli’s father. Both Abhay and Babli meet in marriage and find out that they are childhood friends. They fall in love, but Abhay does not want to marry and his focus is not in love, instead, he wants to win the election. Will they get together? You need to watch the movie to find out.
Jabariya Jodi Review
Director Prashant Singh tried to bring the social issue of Pakadwa Vivaah with the pinch of humor, but honestly, he is unable to do justice. The script of the movie is the main culprit. The first half of the movie is promising, you will get many laughter moments, but in the second half, the movie loses its plot. It starts on a social subject of Pakadwa Vivaah but loses its momentum. The backdrop of the movie is Bihar, but both Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra failed to provide the Bihar’s touch. The colorful costumes of the star cast do not show by any means that the movie is based in Bihar. Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra tried their best to do justice with Bihar’s accent, but the script is what let them down. The supporting cast Javed Jaffery, Sanjay Mishra, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Chandan Roy Saniyal portrayed their character very well. Jabariya Jodi is not that jabardast, which we were expecting. If you are a die-hard fan of Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra, then you can watch this movie. We give this movie 2.5 stars.
