The Tiger Shroff starrer movie Baaghi 2 is all set to release on 30 March 2018. The trailer of the movie was out but another thing that the fans were craving for was the item number of Jacqueline Fernandez. It is the official remake of Madhuri Dixit’s superhit item song, “Ek Do Teen”. Finally, the song was released but it seems like the song turned out to be a disappointment for the fans.

The new version of the song got loud music that will allure you to dance for sure. However, if we talk about Jacqueline Fernandez in the song, she could not bring the magic and charm with this one. Moreover, she failed to refresh the old memories that every one of us has with the old song.

What The Director Said About The Song

In an interview, the director Ahmed Khan said, “When she heard it was Ek Do Teen she freaked out. It is everybody’s favorite. When we think of an item song we think of Ek Do Teen… as the baap of all item songs. I quickly paid Saroj ji a visit, but we did not invite her to do the choreography for the new version of Ek Do Teen for two reasons. One, because we wanted a new treatment for the song, too, because Saroj ji is now getting on and is also likely to run out of patience on the sets.”

This One Is Homage To The Original

He talked about the old song and the choreography of the new song, “It is an entirely new interpretation of the iconic song, not meant to challenge the original. Rather, ours is the homage to the original. We made sure that Jacqueline’s costume was a close replica of Madhuri’s costume from the original Ek Do Teen. We have incorporated Madhuri’s signature step – the palm and fingers perpendicular to the forehead accompanied by a trot backward – into our version. But the rest of the steps are by Ganesh.”

Maybe they did not want to challenge the old song with this new approach but it is certain that fans will compare both of the versions. And, clearly, the old song was better than this one. What do you say? Do you think Jacqueline reintroduced the old Mohini? Share your thoughts.
