With the star power of Alia Bhatt, and backed by Dharma Productions, Jigra should have started close to double digit. However, the numbers are on the lower side. The storyline was based on a jailbreak. The film collected Rs 4.55 crore nett at the box office in India. The numbers will increase today due to the Dussehra holiday and Sunday.

Jigra is a Bollywood action thriller movie. Vasan Bala is the director of the movie and he also co-wrote it with Debashish Irengbam. Praneet Samaiya gave the film 3.5 stars and called the film a Riveting thriller. He wrote, “Director Vasan Bala revives the classic brother-sister bond. He has presented the story with ample emotions. The prison break story is not something new. However, the way VasanBala brought the emotions and the protective bond of brother and sister is the core of Jigra.
Alia Bhatt is superb as Satya. Her body language is brilliant. The way she portrayed the role of a fearless sister who can go to any extent to save his brother is clap-worthy. Vedang Raina delivers a good performance. He, however, said that the first half takes more time to build and feels dragged. Usually, the jailbreak film has thrills, but Jigra has more emotions. If the screenplay had more tighter, it would have been better. The BGM of Jigra is the highlight. Jigra is a story of courage, passion, and determination. It is a riveting thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.”
