Salman Khan’s latest release, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” has completed a week at the box office. But the film’s collections have failed to match the expectations set by a Salman Khan movie. The movie’s domestic collection stands at Rs 90.15 crore. This is not bad, but one would have expected better numbers for a Salman Khan film.
The film managed to earn Rs 3.5 crore on its seventh day in theatres. Thus bringing its total gross collection to Rs 151.15 crores gross worldwide. “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” had no significant competition in its release week, which was expected to work in its favor. However, the film failed to create the desired impact at the box office.
Salman Khan Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan At Box Office
Directed by Farhan Samji, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” stars Pooja Hegde, Bhumika Chawla. Along with Venkatesh Daggubati, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari. Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, and Jagapathi Babu, among others. Despite a strong star cast and good performances, the movie struggled to impress the audience.
The film opened with a collection of Rs 15.81 crore. It was decent, but over the first weekend, it collected only Rs 68.17 crore. This made it unlikely for “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” to surpass the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, Pathaan,” Which ended its first week with Rs 378.15 crore.

“Tiger 3,” Salman Khan’s next release of the year, is expected to make a more substantial impact at the box office. Given the excitement generated by his cameo in “Pathaan.” Salman hasn’t had a successful release in theatres since 2019’s “Dabangg 3,” which earned Rs 146.11 crore, but that was also an average grosser.
What To Expect From Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan?
Although “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” has crossed the Rs 100 crore gross mark in the global and domestic market combined after a week, it will have a difficult time matching the lifetime domestic collection of Luv Ranjan’s “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” which stands at Rs 148.13 crore. “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, managed to earn Rs 92.84 crore at the end of its first week, slightly more than what the Salman Khan film has managed to collect.
The trajectory of the two films is different. The first week saw “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” bring in Rs 82.31 crores in revenue, despite its Wednesday release. In comparison, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” received substantial aid with over 50 crores coming in just two days, Saturday and Sunday, thanks to Eid. However, the Salman Khan starrer’s collections were inconsistent enough to sustain momentum.
The film’s collections on Thursday, the seventh day of its release, were just Rs 3.50 crores, which is not a good sign. The hope is that at least Friday’s numbers get back into the Rs 4 crores zone so that further growth is evidenced tomorrow and the day after. With not much competition in the form of “Ponniyin Selvan 2” (Hindi) and “Bad Boy,” it should be possible for the film to regain some momentum.
Positive To Mixed Reviews For KBKJ
The film was met with positive to mixed reviews. However, Praneet Samaiya from Cinetales called the film a family entertainer. In his review, Praneet Samaiya wrote,
“Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a typical Salman Khan film with loads of action and family values. If you are a fan of Bhaijaan then KKBKKJ is for you. It is an action-packed family entertainer with some powerful dialogues, peppy dance numbers, emotions, and family drama.”
Salman will next be seen reprising his role of Tiger in Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3. This Diwali, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi.
