This Independence Day, three big Bollywood movies clashed at the Box Office Stree 2 vs Vedaa vs Khel Khel Mein. Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal, and Fardeen Khan starrer starts slow at the Box Office. Stree 2 is in riot mode and is creating Aatank at the box office. Due to this, the business of John Abraham Vedaa and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein was impacted badly. Among the three films released this Independence Day, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein collected the lowest. It is another single-digit opening for Akshay Kumar. Khel Khel Mein collected Rs 5.23 crore on Day 1 at the Box Office. It is not ever 10 percent of Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 which collected Rs 55.40 crore. Also, read Vedaa Day 1 Box Office collection.
Initially, Khel Khel Mein showed promise as it outperformed Vedaa in the advance booking. However, the film struggled to maintain momentum as it failed to convert these early sales. Vedaa got benefited from better spot bookings.
Khel Khel Mein witnessed an overall Hindi occupancy of 40.26 percent. Most of the people watched the film’s night shows. In Delhi and NCR, there were 421 shows, and the occupancy witnessed was 50.5%. In Mumbai, there were 352 shows, the occupancy stood at 45.25%.

Praneet Samaiya wrote in his review, ‘Akshay Kumar and his team will make you laugh with this interesting tale of trust, love, secrets, and betrayal. Some scenes in the film seem dragged, but the best part is curiosity is maintained throughout.’ He gave the film a 4-star rating.
Despite warm reviews, Khel Khel Mein does not perform the way it was expected. Despite the long Independence Day weekend, the film will face tough competition from Stree 2 as it continues to dominate the ticket sales. If the numbers don’t increase, Khel Khel Mein will finish its box office run with less than Rs 50 crore lifetime collection.
