Marjaavaan Review: The Movie Is High On Drama And Lacks In Execution

Movie Poster/Marjaavaan

Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra coming together after the success of their Ek Villian in Marjaavaan. Marjaavaan, directed by Milap Zaveri, Marjaavaan takes you to the trip of 1980’s Bollywood movies and has nothing exceptional to watch apart Riteish Deshmukh.

Marjaavaan Story

Still From Trailer

Marjaavaan is a story of Raghu played by Sidharth Malhotra. He is an abandoned child adopted by the water mafia don Anna portrayed by Nassar who also dabbles in prostitution. Raghu was raised as the right hand of Anna. Anna’s real son is Vishnu who is three-foot-tall played by Riteish Deshmukh who sees Raghu as his rival and enemy and wants to destroy Raghu. The life of Raghu changes when he sees a mute girl Zoya played by Tara Sutaria. Zoya tries to change Raghu through music. Rakul Preet played the role of Aarzoo a bar dancer. Will Raghu come out from Mafia and gundagiri? Will his love story progress or Vishnu puts the end to the love story?

Marjaavaan Review

Poster

Marjaavaan will take you to the trip of 1980’s Bollywood movies but lacks in execution. Riteish Deshmukh as three-foot-tall Vishnu is leading with his performance. Sidharth Malhotra has a good screen presence and he tried to put his best performance but the story makes it’s less impactful. Tara Sutaria looked beautiful on screen but has nothing to do out-of-the-box.

Still From Song

The dialogues of the movie are high on drama but low on impact like “Main todunga bhi aur tod Kar jodunga bhi”, “Main maroonga Marr jayega, Dobara Janam lene se darr jayega”, “uska volume off hain, par speaker loud hain”. The movie has love, drama, romance, action, and revenge but has many glitches. The background score is loud. The music is soulful and melodious but many songs only increasing the already lengthy runtime. Tum Hi Aana and Ek Pal Zindagani are chartbusters. The movie tried to put all the flavors of action, romance, vengeance, drama but this roller coaster ride does not execute well. We give Marjaavaan 2.5 stars out of 5.
