The trailer for Sriram Raghavan’s thriller Merry Christmas is already out. It begins with two mixer grinders, one filled with peanuts and some red chilies and the other with what appear to be sleeping drugs. The entire trailer for the film promises an edge-of-your-seat experience in which you aren’t sure what is right or wrong. The trailer turns to the scene where Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s characters meet for the first time on Christmas Eve, resulting in dramatic circumstances that land both in severe peril. Sanjay Kapoor also appears, and Tinnu Anand’s narration welcomes us to the setting.

The entire trailer is swift and shows a disturbing scene of a teddy bear catching fire, Katrina and her daughter disappearing from the theatre, and whatnot. The iconic “Sometimes Violence Is Better Than Sacrifice” dialogue is enough to indicate the violence, suspense, and also the ‘thrill’ in the movie.

Merry Christmas was supposed to be released on Christmas Day. However, with Dunki and Salaar: CeaseFire dominating the box office this holiday season, the mers opted to extend the film’s release date to January 12. This is the first trailer for the film, with the second due out in the first week of January. Merry Christmas is set to hit cinemas on January 12, 2024.

Merry Christmas is filmed in two languages and has various supporting performers. Tamil and Hindi are the two languages. Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand co-star in the Hindi version, while Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams co-star in the Tamil version. Pari, a kid actress, is also introduced in the film. Both versions will have appearances by Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte. It is a collaboration between Sriram’s Matchbox Pictures and Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films.
