Munjya Movie Review
Munjya is a movie that blends comedy, horror, and supernatural elements. The narrative of the film is quite powerful. Yogesh Chandekar and writer Niren Bhatt truly did a great job with the research work. Munjya is a kind of story that guarantees tons of laughter. Additionally, the direction of the movie is top-notch. But the screenplay could have been somewhat better in some parts. Moreover, if you are looking for a full-fledged horror movie, this might be a disappointment.
This is because the jokes and funny moments tend to suppress the horror. Nevertheless, Munjya compensates for its flaws with several light-hearted moments. The background score also suits well as it weaves together elements of suspense and humor. It also creates a unique atmosphere that keeps audiences engaged. Moving ahead to the performances, Abhay Verma plays the character of Bittu who is a man in his twenties.
Abhay plays the role with perfection. Mona Singh plays the character of Bittu’s protective single mother and a working woman. She is an absolute show stealer and a major part of the film also rests on her shoulder. Her humor and impeccable comic timing are praiseworthy. Additionally, Sharwari Wagh plays the role of Bittu’s love interest. She did a fine job too. Meanwhile, a special appearance by Shraddha Kapoor gives it extra beauty.
Final Verdict
Though Munjya is quite interesting for the most part, it does have its flaws. If you’re someone looking for a good horror comedy to watch with friends and family, then this one is a must-watch. The performances by the cast are something worth watching. We rate this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.
