Priya Vasudev Mani, known as Priyamani, is an Indian actress and former model who worked in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam language films. Priyamani has made a mark with the Amazon series The Family Man, essaying the role of Manoj Bajpayee’s on-screen wife, Suchi. There are a lot of lesser-known facts about Priyamani. Received National Film Award And Filmfare Awards
She has received National Film Award for Best Actress and three Filmfare Awards. Priyamani started her acting career in 2003 from the Telugu film Evare Atagaadu. She gained recognition for her role as village girl Muththazhagu in the Tamil romantic drama Paruthiveeran. Priya Vasudev Mani also worked in Raam, Raavan, Pranchiyettan and the Saint, and Idolle Ramayan. Priyamani also judged several dance reality shows across South Indian languages.
Early Life
Priyamani modeled for Kancheepuram silks, Erode silks, and Laxmi silks during her school years. She is the granddaughter of Carnatic vocalist Kamala Kailas. She is the cousin of film actress Vidya Balan and the niece of playback singer Malgudi Shubha. After completing her schooling, Priya Vasudev Mani modeled for print advertisements.
Bollywood Debut
Priyamani made her Bollywood debut with Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s starer ‘Raavan.’ She has also worked with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Chennai Express’ in the popular dance number ‘One Two Three Four.’ She has also starred in director Ram Gopal Verma’s trilingual film Rakht Charitra.

Priyamani Thoughts For Vidya Balan
Priyamani had spoken about her equation with Vidya Balan, who I one of the most acclaimed actresses in Bollywood. Vidya Balan and Priyamani are recipients of the National Film Awards. Priya Vasudev Mani said,
“We don’t meet as often as our parents do. I’m very proud that she’s family, and I wish her a great career.”
During a press event for her film Rakta Charitra II, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, she once again asked about the equation with Vidya Balan. Priyamani said we are second cousins.
“I may get more mileage if I bounce Vidya’s name in the Mumbai media, but I am totally averse to that idea. Some people may boast about their links to climb up the ladder but I’m not like that. Nothing can replace talent.”
We haven’t been in touch personally, but I am in touch with her father. Whenever I came to Mumbai, I make sure to call her dad. If possible, I would love to meet Vidya someday. I am extremely proud of her and the body of work that she has done.
Vidya Balan On Priyamani
When Vidya Balan was asked about Priya Vasudev Mani in an interview with DNA, she said,
“Yes, but can you believe we have met once in our lives. We are distant cousins. We met on a film award stage once because our families are not in touch.”
When she was asked about Priyamani’s career, Vidya said,
“I am given to believe that she’s a wonderful actress, and she is doing really well by herself. More power to her.”
