The creators of one of the most popular games PUBG along with KRAFTON announced an altogether different game exclusively for the Indian users and for the Indian market PUBG Mobile India. The game PUBG was banned in India a few months back due to security and privacy concerns. However, now PUBG Mobile is relaunched in India as PUBG Mobile India.
As per PUBG Corporation, this new version is specifically designed for Indian users. It includes local customizations such as characters starting the game fully clothed. The official release date of PUBG Mobile India will be announced soon. South Korea’s PUBG Corporation told that it will offer healthy and secure gameplay for PUBG Mobile India. The parent company of PUBG corporation, Krafton has recently tied up with Microsoft to store the user data on Redmond’s cloud platform called Azure Cloud. It is also available in India locally. The government of India has mandated the data of Indian users to be stored locally under the data localization policy.
The game will have a whole new virtual simulation training ground that is familiar to Indian users. PUBG Corporation is also adding a new feature inside PUBG Mobile India that will put restrictions on game time. It is to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players. PUBG Corporation has also announced that it will create an Indian subsidiary to enhance communications and services with players.
To boost up its operations in India, PUBG Corporation is summing up to an investment of a whopping $100 million. It has already acquired an India office and has started the process of hiring over 100 employees specializing in areas of business, esports, and game development. It could be the largest investment by a Korean company in India other than those in the manufacturing industry, according to PUBG Corporation. This investment will be dedicated to esports events and tournaments. These events will be “India-exclusive” and bring large prize pools and tournament productions.
