The much-awaited Nelson Dilipkumar film Jailer, which stars superstar Rajinikanth in the leading role, has debuted in theatres. It received positive reviews from reviewers and debuted as the fifth-highest-earning Indian movie of 2023. Despite Rajinikanth’s Jailer popularity, debates about its streaming potential and digital rights are trending on social media.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer Secures The Rights
The most recent sources indicate that Sun Pictures, a production company run by Kalanithi Maran, has partnered with Netflix. Kalanithi Maran’s production house, Sun Pictures, secured digital streaming rights for Jailer. The Sun NXT streaming service will offer access to the movie. Sun Network has also acquired Rajinikanth’s Jailer satellite rights in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer To Get OTT Release Partners?
According to rumors, Jailer would go to the Sun NXT platform after finishing its 28-day theatrical run. Although official confirmation has not yet been made, it is anticipated that this shift will take place on or around September 6 or 7.

Jailer just had its theatrical debut, and it had a significant effect during its opening weekend. The movie’s prolonged weekend after its August 10th premiere helped it earn an estimated $300 crore globally. The film allegedly made over Rs 38 crore on its fourth day in Indian theatres, including collections from all languages. The total revenue for Jailer in India as of the conclusion of its debut weekend was Rs 146.40 crore.

Jailer, considered to be Superstar Rajinikanth’s 169th film project, also represents his comeback to the big screen after a two-year absence; the last time he appeared was in Annaatthe. Anirudh Ravichander wrote the soundtrack for the movie, and Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal handled the cinematography and editing deftly.
Rajinikanth’s Next Project
Rajinikanth is now immersed in the filming of Lal Salaam, the sports drama that he will star in, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Vikranth, Vishnu Vishal, and Kapil Dev also appear in the film.
