Raksha Bandhan Story
The story revolves around Lala Kedarnath, played by Akshay Kumar. He is the eldest and the only brother of four sisters played by Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, and Smriti Srikanth. Lala runs a chat shop in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, started by his father. He promised his mother on her deathbed that he would take care of his sisters. Lala said that he would be married only after fulfilling the responsibilities of marrying his sisters. He has a childhood love Sapna (Bhumi Pednekar). She is waiting to get married to Lala once his sisters are married.
Lala tries hard and puts relentless effort into getting his sisters married. However, due to this, his personal life has gone for a toss. Sapna’s father gives Lala an ultimatum to marry his daughter within six months; else, he will marry her to someone else. He arranges dowry and even marries one of his sisters. Raksha Bandhan Review
Aanand L. Rai has given films like Raanjhanaa, Tanu Weds Manu, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, and recently released Atrangi Re. He knows the art of presenting the movie with emotions and elements. Director Aanand L. Rai has put another feather in the cap with Raksha Bandhan. He has made a beautiful film. The bond between the siblings is a treat to watch. Writer Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon’s storytelling is fantastic. The dialogues of Raksha Bandhan are top-notch. They will make you laugh and even make you emotional. The first half has humor, while the second half makes you emotional.
Talking about the performance, Akshay Kumar is simply brilliant. He has played the role of a brother with utmost perfection. You will surely forget Bachhchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj after this. He has poured his heart out with loads of emotions, fun, and humor. Bhumi Pednekar has done justice with her character. Sadia Khateeb is beautiful and would be better if she had more screen time. Seema Pahwa, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, and Smriti Srikanth all played their part well. Himesh Reshammiya’s music is melodious. The songs like Tere Saath Hoon Main, Done Kar Do, and Dhaagon Sa Bandha are already chartbusters.
