‘Salaar’ raked in a whopping Rs 95 crore across all languages in India, securing its dominance at the ticket counters. The film’s compelling narrative, set in the fictional city of Khansaar, revolves around the tumultuous relationship between two friends, Deva and Vardha, portrayed by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who transition from camaraderie to arch-rivalry. ‘Salaar’ eclipsed the first-day earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan,’ which amassed Rs 57 crore, and ‘Jawan,’ garnered about Rs 89.5 crore. Even Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal,’ with an opening of Rs 63 crore. Thus, it couldn’t match the box office prowess of Prabhas’ magnum opus.
Global Domination
The film’s success isn’t confined to Indian territories alone. ‘Salaar’ conquered the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions with a staggering collection of Rs 70 crore. It exhibited an overall occupancy of 88.93 percent in Telugu areas. Salaar also left its mark in Karnataka and Kerala, securing opening day figures of Rs 12 crore and Rs 5 crore, respectively.
