Neena Gupta’s autobiography ‘Sach Kahun Toh‘ is making the headlines since it has been released. In her autobiography, Neena Gupta made some huge and shocking revelations related to her personal and professional life. She has also talked about the challenges she has faced while raising her daughter Masaba Gupta.
Satish Kaushik Wanted To Marry Neena Gupta
Neena Gupta disclosed that when she got pregnant with Masaba while being in a relationship with West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards during the 1980s, her friend Satish Kaushik offered to marry her. Satish Kaushik is an actor-director and a well-known name in the Bollywood industry. One of the paragraphs from ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ reads,
“Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing.”
Professional Issues Neena Gupta Faced
Neena Gupta often discussed her relationship with Vivian Richards and subsequent professional issues she had faced. She said,
“Well that of a bold, strong woman who does things according to what she wants to do. And a strong woman means a negative woman in our films. I used to get all negative roles like a dominating woman in the household but I told them that I want a bechari woman role.”
Challenges In Raising Masaba
Neena Gupta raised her daughter as a single mother, and now Masaba Gupta is a well-known designer. Talking about raising Masaba as a single parent, Neena Gupta said,
“It was very hard. It was harder than I imagined. I feel it was wrong because a child needs both the parents to be around, and they need quality time. They need a lot of time and I feel that if I didn’t have to earn money, Masaba would have been even better.”
She added,
“Also, discussions about having a child out of wedlock (referring to her daughter Masaba) went on and on and on. Woh child to woman ho gayi abhi bhi child hi bol rahe hain (People are still calling her child, even though she is a woman now).”
Neena Gupta was last seen in the movie Sardar Ka Grandson. In the year 2008, she married a Delhi-based chartered accountant Vivek Mehra.
