The narrative continues from where the last season left off, with the development of the relationship between Stuti (Navika Kotia) and Anirban (Aaditya Gupta). However, their friendship becomes complicated when 16-year-old social media star Yashika (Ashnoor Kaur) enters school. Yashika’s friendship with Anirban creates jealousy in Stuti, causing a rift in the group.

The equation is further complicated when Principal Bhola announces a complete ban on all extracurricular activities must be imposed. This sudden directive impacts the kids deeply, compelling the School Friends group to unite and fight for what they cherish. The season focuses on the attempts at friendship and the formation of new ties. The characters deal with teenage turmoil through self-realization, miscommunication, and jealousy, and the plot seems realistic.

Because of social media’s impact on young people’s lives, Yashika’s character adds a contemporary edge. Stuti, Anirban, and Yashika’s love triangle follows a conventional path with few unexpected detours.

School Friends Season 3 expertly combines humorous and moving scenes to create an engaging narrative. Yashika’s persona as a social media influencer is a refreshing and modern development. The show does lose its pace in the middle of the season, and some of the storylines drag on more than they should. Though dramatic, Principal Bhola’s move to ban extracurricular activities tends to be exaggerated. A more grounded approach would have made the confrontation more effective.

The cast performances appear natural and real. Navika Kotia acts confidently as Stuti. She understands her character’s insecurities and emotions quite well. Aaditya Gupta has a restrained and reflective performance as Anirban, particularly in emotional scenes. Ashnoor Kaur shines as Yashika, injecting energy and newness into the show. Her character provides a contemporary touch, showing the effect of social media on friendship.

Alisha Parveen (Dimple), Manav Soneji (Raman), and Ansh Pandey (Mukund) give some humor and warmth, and the group’s friendship becomes believable. Prakash Bharadwaj’s portrayal of Principal Bhola maintains the story’s interest by striking a mix of comedy and seriousness. The series would have been better, and the plot would have been enhanced if supporting characters had developed more.
