Swara Bhasker Slams ‘X’ After Her Account Is Permanently Banned – Here’s What Happened

Actress Swara Bhasker is frustrated because her X (formerly Twitter) account was permanently suspended. She has taken this up on Instagram. She called the suspension unfair and said that it was based on false claims of copyright violations in two of her tweets. Swara termed it a ridiculous claim and said that it attacked her right to free speech.

Swara Bhasker X Account Permanently Suspended

One of the flagged posts featured a popular slogan in Hindi, “Gandhi Hum Sharmindaa Hain, Tere Qaatil Zinda Hain.” Swara argued that the slogan is a widely used phrase in progressive movements across India and cannot be considered a copyright violation.

The second post included a photo of her daughter waving the Indian flag with the caption, “Happy Republic Day India.” Swara questioned how an image of her own child, with her face concealed, could possibly be flagged as a copyright issue. She expressed disbelief, saying, “Who has a copyright on my child’s likeness?”

Sharing screenshots of the notices from X, Swara Bhasker called the complaints illogical and untenable by any legal definition of copyright. She stated that the flagged tweets were likely mass-reported to harass her and suppress her freedom of speech. She described the suspension as a targeted attempt to silence her voice and demanded a review of X’s decision.

Swara publicly appealed to X, asking the platform to reverse its decision and reinstate her account. She emphasized that the flagged tweets did not violate any copyright laws and were merely expressions of her thoughts and personal life.
