Taaza Khabar Season 2 Review
Season 2 begins right where its debut season left off. It brings a tale of redemption, familial guilt, and Vasya’s endless struggle to escape from the clutches of poverty. This season seems to be obsessed with life lessons, pay-offs, and money shame. The director manages to capture the themes of fate and the future decently. However, the way poverty has been shown is one of Taaza Khabar’s biggest flaws. There could have been better ways of depicting middle-class family struggles.
Talking about the performances, Bhuvan Bam, as always, is as confident as Vasya. He has also done a brilliant job in the emotional scenes. Meanwhile, Supriya Pilgaonkar in the role of Madhu, the s*x worker whom Vasya has always loved, is exceptional in her performance. Deven Bhojani and Nithya Mathur are genuine in their roles and their bonding is a treat to watch. Apart from them, Jaaved Jaaferi also plays his part with utmost dedication. Alisha Naik in the role of Bhuvan’s mother is simple yet effective in her role.
The entire cast of Taaza Khabar, including the supporter characters, gives the finest performances. However, this season, the series portrays poverty through a melodramatic narrative. The constant flashbacks and back-and-forth in terms of timeline break momentum. It often plays spoilsport as it might sometimes confuse the viewers. Nevertheless, the series decently balances moments of tension with quieter and more introspective scenes. It also keeps the audience emotionally invested in the series.
Final Verdict
Taaza Khabar Season 2 could have been so much more than it is right now. Nevertheless, exceptional cast performances and the emotional grip in the series truly make it a must-watch. Therefore, we rate this series 3.5 out of 5 stars.
