Total Dhamaal Review: Predictable Adventurous Comedy Is One Time Family Entertainment

via

Total Dhamaal is the third installment in the Dhamaal franchise. Total Dhamaal which was said to be an adventurous comedy lacks in most of the aspects. Once upon a time in the ’90s, there was a director Indra Kumar who made blockbuster movies like Dil, Beta, Ishq, Mann etc. We can’t believe he is the same director who made Total Dhamaal.

Total Dhamaal a multi starrer, starring big star casts as Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jaffrey, Esha Gupta, Boman Irani, and Sanjay Mishra.

Total Dhamaal Story

It is a story of the hidden treasure of 50 crores for which the characters of the movie go for.  Similar like first installment Dhamaal, the chase begins with all the leading characters try to reach to Omkar Circus at Janakpuri at first. The story is all about the separate journey of all the characters. Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit are a couple in the movie and are on the verge of a divorce.

Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit Jodi is a treat to watch. Arshad and Javed played a similar role as a siblings Adi and Manav. Riteish Deshmukh character is hilarious and his scenes with Johny Lever are one of the unique selling points of the film. Ajay Devgn character will remind you the character of Sanjay Dutt from the first installment of Dhamaal.

Total Dhamaal Review

The story is similar like first Dhamaal with a new package. The movie starts with the title song introducing all characters. But then the film weak plot makes everything predictable. Anil Kapoor played the role of frustrated husband with his amusing Gujarati accent and Madhuri used the tadka of Marathi to deliver all the right punches.  Adi and Manav camaraderie was better in the previous installment of Dhamaal. Riteish Deshmukh played the character of Lallan and his scenes with Johnny Lever are hilarious.

Rest of the cast like Boman Irani, Mahesh Manjrekar and Esha Gupta were not utilized properly to their talent and have very little to do in the movie. The biggest fault of the movie is the film’s screenplay. The story is similar to the previous installment. Most of the punches are predictable. Only big star casts, few scenes of Riteish and Johny Lever and the last scene of the zoo are the saviors. This family entertainment was spoiled by poor execution and predictable plot.

The trailer of the movie had too much to offer but the movie lacks in expectations. Our final verdict says it honestly disappoints big time and it is strict one-time watch family entertainment. We give the movie 2.5 stars out of 5. How many of you have watched Total Dhamaal? Let us know in the comments and share your experience with us.
