John Abraham’s latest release, Vedaa had a dismal run at the worldwide box office. The result was not satisfying. The film has collected less than Rs 30 crore worldwide. It is a big disappointment for big star like John Abraham. John Abraham was last seen in Pathaan. The audience praised him for his performance. But this time, it seems like the audience is a bit disappointed by him.
The Clash That Should Have Been Avoided
Vedaa was released on Independence Day, which was usually a good time for movies. John Abraham had two good Independence Day releases in the past. In 2018, his Satyameva Jayate clashed with Akshay Kumar’s God. In 2019, John’s Batla House clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal. Both the films did well at the Box Office.
Vedaa clashed with Khel Khel Mein and Stree 2. However, the wave of Stree 2 was so strong that it swept up the other two releases with it. Stree 2 grabbed all the attention of the audience. The problem is after this clash, there is still no major release even after a month. If any of Khel Khel Mein or Vedaa averted the clash, the result for both films could have been much better. The clash backfired on John Abraham’s Vedaa. People were so excited about Stree 2 that they didn’t pay much attention to other movies.
Vedaa Box Office
Vedaa had a decent start because of Independence Day. Well, that is the only good news for John Abraham’s film. After Day 1, the numbers went downhill and never grew promisingly. Even though decent reviews from the critics, Vedaa was a sinking ship because of the Stree 2 hurricane. John Abraham’s last with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan broke records at the Box Office. But Vedaa is forgettable. It is the third lowest-grossing film in a decade for John Abraham. Vedaa collected around Rs 21.47 crore nett in India and Rs 3.25 crore overseas. The total worldwide collection is Rs 28.75 crore overseas.

These numbers put Vedaa among John Abraham’s third lowest-grossing films in a decade. Only two other movies did worse, Mumbai Saga, which made Rs 22.86 crore, and Attack Rs 23.6 crore. While Vedaa is likely will, it is still a disappointment for the fans. John Abraham has an upcoming project ‘Tehran’. We hope the next film to do much better.
